Once the tank has been uncovered in a small area above ground, it is then aerated to create a safe working environment. Once the tank has been deemed safe, it is accessed by cutting approximately an 18” x 18” opening in the top. Tank sludge is removed, cleaned and the tank is inspected in accordance with API 1631 standards.  An ultrasonic tester is also utilized to check for wall thickness of original tank. The tank is then sandblasted and cleaned in preparation of lining. Lining materials consist of various types and is determined by what the tank is being used for.

Once tank has been lined to manufacturers specification it is also tested for proper application by hardness testing, holiday (pinhole) tests and various other test as specified by manufacturer and local codes.

Our skilled tank experts will provide you with detailed tank diagrams indicating the exact size of the tank, the location of various bungs and their uses for future needs.

The tank is then closed and an overlapping lid is soap tested for tightness.

Most tank linings take less than 5 days on a 3 tank location depending on varying degrees of site work.

The savings of using lining is not only valuable in cost vs replacement, but the peace of mind of knowing you are preventing contamination on your neighbors groundwater.
